Wanderlust//kan man komma bort från detta kalla ikea-land nån gång då??

"Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you- it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you… Hopefully, you leave something good behind."
Anthony Bourdain

Imagine if we one day decided to buy a plane ticket to London. One day, when Stockholm is grey and we’re tired of everything. We just do it, only for the weekend.
We rush home to pack a passport, toothbrush and mascara. Then we take the express-train, wait an hour or two on the flight. And then we’re there.
We decide to have dinner at Oxford Street, for it has already become night. We check into a cheap hotel and fall asleep almost instantly. First, we laugh at how crazy we are, that we dared to go away just like that without saying anything.
In the morning I take a shower and use the hotel’s small shampoo bottles. Only thinking about what we should eat for breakfast. Underground to Liverpool Street, we choose a small café with outdoor seating. Because it is warm enough to drink coffee sitting at a round table on the sidewalk.
After egg & bacon we go to Brick Lane, to all second hand stores. Leather shoes, ugly sunglasses and floral dresses we select. Maybe we need to buy a suitcase to carry everything. We had none with us. After hours of Brick Lane’s narrow sidewalks we change outfits at the hotel. One night in the city lights is waiting for us.
At the pub where we drink draft beer we admire the British boys and fall secretly in love with their British accents, curly hair and courtesy.
A text message from home: “I haven’t got hold of you. Where are you??”
I reply: “In London :)”.
